A week exploring fabulous Los Angeles.

Updated: Feb 17, 2019

After a crazy, party filled week in Vegas, a luxurious trip to California was much needed. Basing ourselves in Los Angeles, we visited the popular sites of Calabasas, Malibu and not forgetting a trip to the Hollywood sign. There is so much to visit and explore in Los Angeles that I felt that a week was nowhere near long enough to explore the city. Although, we gave it a good try!

Our hotel was based a 10 minute walk away from the Walk of Fame which is a must do whilst visiting the celebrity capital! The walk of Fame includes some of the most fascinating musicians, artists and TV personalities which is a definite highlight for all those who follow the lives of celebrities. Some parts of the walk include hand and foot prints where you can compare hand size with icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Will Smith.

Seeing as we were already in a celebrity daze after visiting the walk of fame, we felt that it was only right to continue our celeb spotting by joining a celebrity houses tour which picks you up from your hotel before taking you along all the celeb hotspots such as Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive, before spotting the houses of some of your favourite celebrities. Even if you are not a massive fan of celeb stuff, I would recommend this tour for the fascinating sites that are witnessed such as the Hollywood sign along with the playboy mansion and the former house of Michael Jackson. During this trip, you are also taken to the famous Venice Beach which is an extremely beautiful location with exotic palm trees surrounding the area.

During our time in LA, we hired a car to travel around in, which gave us the freedom to explore as much as we possibly could. We started off with a trip to Calabasas where we did some shopping in true Kardashian fashion, including a makeup fuelled trip to Sephora, which needs to be seen to believe how truly magnificent it is from a makeup lovers perspective. We also made our way back to Beverly Hills to fully experience the beautiful palm trees and landscape of California. The views in LA are beautiful beyond words and you would be mistaken to believe that you're in a Hollywood film as everybody dresses in the most glamorous fashion.

For all TV fanatics, the Warner Brothers Studio Tour is a short drive away from the centre of LA and this is a tour that I would strongly recommend. You can read my full review and experience of the tour here, I can assure you, it is an experience that should not be missed.

Another day was taken up by a road trip to Malibu where we found a lovely, quaint restaurant to eat at, which sat above the beach overlooking the sea with some magnificent Malibu mountains in the background. The food in Los Angeles is fantastic and you would never struggle to find something that you fancy, your biggest issue would be that you can't possibly decide and want to eat everything in sight!

Whilst we were immersing ourselves into the LA lifestyle, we decided that it wouldn't be right if we didn't watch a baseball game during our time visiting the beautiful city. We witnessed the LA Dodgers win against the Colorado Rockies which was an experience that I won't forget in a hurry. The whole stadium erupted as the LA Dodgers took the win and in true spectator style, we celebrated with a corndog. I even bought a LA Dodgers branded hat to celebrate, which I still wear with pride to remind me of the wonderful experience.

Our time in LA soon came to an end but not before we were able to witness the most magnificent display of 4th July fireworks, whilst overlooking LA. It was a magical end to a fantastic holiday.
