My Top 3 National parks

National and Natural parks are some of my favourite areas to visit and explore whilst on holiday.

Here I rank my 3 favourite spots.

1.) Krka national park

Krka national park is located within Southern Croatia and is easily my favourite national park that I have visited. Krka national park is known for its beautiful waterfalls which you can swim close to whilst enjoying the relaxing sound of the water crashing down into the clear swimming lake. It is also a very safe spot to leave valuable items whilst swimming and our tour guide recounted many stories of the safety and security within this location which makes taking a dip in the lake a no-brainer. However if swimming isn't for you, there is plenty of other things to see and do around the park with one of the main activities being to explore the beautiful nature reserves and witnessing the incredible wildlife that lives here. You will also not be left hungry or thirsty with a variety of food and drink stalls placed around the reserve and lots of water stations to fill up your bottle. I would highly recommend bringing a refillable bottle because there is lots to explore and before long you will notice that you have been walking for many miles, whilst taking in all the incredible view points and waterfalls that sit within the park. I would recommend this trip to anyone and everyone who is in the area. I visited this incredible park as a guided tour trip departing from Split therefore, it is easily accessible from tourist hot-spots.

2.) Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is arguably one of the most famous national parks in the world and this title comes with high expectations which the Grand Canyon is sure to meet. There are many ways to visit this national park with many tours on the market, therefore I would advise looking around when planning a trip to the Grand Canyon to see which tour is best suited for you. I was fortunate enough to take a helicopter tour to this stunning canyon, however I felt like I wasn't able to properly explore as much of the Grand Canyon as I would have liked to, which is why I would recommend searching through all of your options before booking a trip. Regardless of how you choose to travel to this breathtaking national park, you are sure to be astonished by the depth and scale that the Grand Canyon sits at. It's difficult to understand the large scale of this park until you have visited and witnessed this impressive national park with your own eyes. The Grand Canyon is definitely worth a visit to understand why it is one of the most popular national parks in the world.

3.) Montserrat Natural Park

Montserrat Natural Park is a great day out and can easily be accessed from Barcelona. Whilst there are many tour options, the park is reachable via train journey from Barcelona and the train passes some beautiful sights, giving you lots to see before you arrive at the stunning park. The main part of the Natural park sits high within the mountain tops, allowing you to gain a picturesque view of the Catalunya countryside in all of its' glory. Although I wouldn't recommend a trip here if you are afraid of heights because the journey begins by travelling up the mountain side in a small cable car, which could be a little nerve-wracking for you. However, in my opinion, the views and sights when you get to the top make the journey worth it.

As well as witnessing some of the most beautiful scenic views that you have come across, there is plenty more to see within Montserrat Natural Park. There is a functioning church that sits within the hike, which is home to some interesting facts and stories which locals will be happy to share with you. There are also multiple information signs that are placed around the area for you to read and gain knowledge at your own pace. In my opinion Montserrat Natural Park has to be witnessed with your own eyes to truly appreciate how special it is and I promise that you will not be disappointed if you decide to take a trip to this charming natural park. If you do decide to visit, I would advise bringing your walking boots as you won't want to miss any part of the enormous park!
