Corfu BBQ Boat Trip Review

During our recent trip to Corfu, we booked a BBQ Boat Trip via Jet2. We decided on this trip because we are both big boat trip fans and although we weren't 100% set on the look of the trip, we decided to give it a go and hope for the best. I am so glad that we decided to give it a chance because this was genuinely one of the best excursions that we have been on!

We booked with Jet2, our holiday provider, therefore we were picked up from our hotel and taken to the boat departure point which was around 20 minutes from our hotel. When we first entered the boat, I was a little apprehensive because it seemed like a lot of people for a medium sized boat, however after everybody had settled and we were ready to depart, it was clear that the boat was extremely spacious with lots of room on board and it even had a large bar located in the downstairs area which was home to some delicious beers and iced cocktails. We sat on the open top deck enjoying the sea air and the beautiful views whilst we drank our delicious beers and cocktails. The drinks were quite expensive but you can't beat the experience of enjoying a beverage on a luxurious boat sailing amongst the open water. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and would regularly give information about some of the historic sights that we were passing, which made the time go very quickly until our first stop.

We were sailing for about an hour before docking at a stunning beach on the coast of mainland Greece. The beach was full of comfortable sunbeds and was home to a company offering a variety of water sports including banana boats, jet skis and many more fun water activities. We were given about 30 minutes to enjoy our leisure time swimming in the sea before being called for a delicious barbecue on the beach. The food was out of this world with a great selection of sausages, chicken, greek salad, tzatziki and traditional greek bread. We were even able to get some seconds which was very much appreciated. After an hour of enjoying the stunning beach and eating some of the best bbq food that I have ever had, we headed back to the boat to enjoy the next part of the trip.

We headed to a swim spot about 30 minutes away from the beach. The spot was home to the most beautifully coloured, clear water and there was a small beach not far from where the boat stopped. It was possible to jump off the boat and explore the reefs, if desired. The workers opened up the top gate, making a space for those brave enough to jump from the top deck. After a lot of convincing, I managed to persuade Chris to jump and although he was hesitant at first, he absolutely loved it and was soon back for three more dives! I'm not a very strong swimmer so I was very content with watching people jumping from the boat, until Chris persuaded me to jump with him. I was a little apprehensive at first but with the security of holding his hand to jump, I soon obliged and before long we were jumping from a large height into the most beautiful and warm water that I have ever had the pleasure to swim in. We had a lot of fun and it wasn't long before we were all being called back to the boat to continue our tour. On route to our next stop, Chris and I excitedly shared stories and memories about the trip so far and our feelings of jumping into the incredible water. It wasn't long before we were stopping at our next destination, which was a swim spot that sits directly under the plane route to the Corfu runway, leading to some wonderful plane sightings whilst enjoying being at sea. I decided to stay on the boat at this stop but Chris did lots of swimming and was able to capture some of the incredible fish that he was swimming alongside. This stop duration was much shorter than the others but after a tiring day in the sea air, we were looking forward to making our way back to our incredible hotel with the fondest memories from our day.

Overall, I would highly recommend a BBQ boat trip. The incredible food, stunning water and memories to last a lifetime, made it a day that will not be forgotten in a hurry💙
