Winter Wonderland, A magical Christmas event

December is a magical month and means that the weather gets colder, nights become cosier and Christmas is around the corner. What better way to celebrate the beginning of December than a trip to one of the most magical events in London... Winter Wonderland ❄️

Winter Wonderland draws big crowds every year and this year is no exception. There is so much to see and do in Winter Wonderland and not to mention the food! We were spoilt for choice with the incredible variety of food and drink and we bought donuts at every opportunity we had 🍩. This year, the entry into Winter Wonderland is priced at £5 - £7.50 for adults, depending on what time you visit (peak time is the higher range). Although, if you spend a certain amount of money on pre-booked activities, food or attractions then the entry is free. We decided to book a few activities before we went but pre-booking isn't always necessary, depending on the time that you are visiting. We booked a 12pm slot and the market was very quiet, which meant that we could walk right into a variety of attractions.

Our pre booked activities were the ice slide, the magical ice kingdom and the ice bar. We also purchased some game coins so we could have a go at winning a prize to remember our time at Winter Wonderland. I won a small polar bear which sits proudly in our house to remind us of our fun day out (and to remind Chris that I beat him at penguin derby😜). Whilst we were inside the Christmas market, we also decided to purchase tickets to the haunted house ride, which was very easy to purchase via the Winter Wonderland app. My personal highlight of the day was the ice slide and I would highly recommend that everybody gives this a go whilst visiting. You get two goes on the ice slide and it goes surprisingly fast! It was both of our highlights and it was super fun to race each other down the slide whilst sliding and spinning all over the slippery ice!

Another favourite attraction of mine was the magical ice Kingdom, which was home to some incredible ice sculptures and a small ice slide which I can assure you is no where near as fast as the crystal ice slide, that is located just outside of the magical ice Kingdom. The ice Kingdom is extremely cold to preserve all of the incredible sculptures inside, so if you decide to visit here, ensure that you are appropriately dressed. My hands felt like ice blocks by the end of our visit 🧊

Not far from the magical ice Kingdom is the Ice bar which is also extremely cold and filled with smaller ice sculptures as well as a fully functioning bar. Tickets to the ice bar include a free drink each, as well as coats and gloves to keep you warm whilst inside. The ice bar was also a fun experience and my cocktail was very delicious.

My favourite part of Winter Wonderland is walking around and visiting all the incredible bars and this year definitely did not disappoint. The bavarian hall is a vibrant indoor beer and food market which includes a variety of live performances as well as delicious food and drink. There are also various bars throughout the event, the Narnia bar looked particularly cosy and magical and the smoke pit was a nice location to keep warm and toasty whilst listening to more live music.

Overall, our time in Winter Wonderland was extremely fun and we both fully enjoyed our day and left feeling very content with our bellies full of delicious food and drinks 🍻
